Llynn was born in Qeynos as the oldest daughter to Isa and Harald Nifesglory.
Her mother was a priestess of Nife, her father was the proud owner of a smithy
and smith himself. Llynn had a brother, two years younger than her, named
Rugan. Her parents were very much in love, although her father disapproved
of her mother going out on adventures every now and then to rid the world
of evil. During those weeks her mother was on temple-led campaigns to slay
some undead dragon or purify the Plane of Hate, Llynn sat at her fathers
feet in his smithy and watched him forges weapons for the militia of Qeynos.
She also listened to his stories of combat and adventure, of which he had
many but mainly warriors played a part. He left out priests deliberatly, as
he did not want Llynn to follow her mothers footsteps but rather be sensible
and take over his smithy one day.
Llynn also had an uncle, a strong warrior who visited about twice a year
and whom she admired greatly. Her uncle sometimes took her to the arena and
let her practise sparring with his trusty sword, something her mother smiled
at but her father thoroughly dissaproved of. Also there were the services
at the temple, which her whole family attended and which young Llynn was
deeply moved by. She felt touched by the glory and wisdom of Nife and wanted
to do things to please him, although she did not see herself as strong in
faith as her mother, who, dressed all in white, stood up on the aisle with
the other priests.
So when the time of choosing came at 15, Llynn, to her fathers great disappointment,
did not apprentice to a smith. Neither did she go to study at the feet of
the clerics, but she rather joined the Order of Paladins to fight for Nife
with sword and fire instead of with healing and magic.
